Kael's big boo boo
Well, on Friday we had our first major mishap. Not bad for having a kid almost 10 years old. Our 2 1/2 year old Kael had a tumble with the dog. Parker and Kael had gone out to play while I was cleaning up our lunch mess on Friday. AJ, our dog, was also outside and I am always out there stepping on his leash so he can't knock the kids over when they are going down the stairs. The one time I'm not there he knocks Kael over on the concrete and busts his head open in about 4 different spots, that of which 2 spots were pretty deep. So I called my neighbors and no one answered. So I loaded up Emerson and Kael into the car and couldn't find Parker anywhere. I had sent him to our neighbors to see if she was home, but he stopped at another neighbors to chat. Well I get him in the car, he has no shoes, so I have to go back home and get him shoes. Then off to the hospital emergency room. Well 6 hrs later Kael had 4 staples in the back of the head. But not without an onterage of people. Daddy showed up, Grandma, Auntie Katie, Cousin Emily, and Auntie Rosie were all there to hear him scream while he got his staples. It was awful. Poor little guy was such a trooper. If I get some pictures taken I will post them.

Emerson is here
So today's blog is just to say that Emerson Meghan Payne-Brennan has arrived in all her glory with a great story to tell. Granted if you read myspace or facebook you will find my story there as well. I'm not going to try to make it all glamourous or funny even though it really was a truly amazing and funny story. I just don't have the energy to tell it in even more detail. Also, Lisa said to post this award and I'm like her a rule breaker so lets see if I can post the award. Ok I can't post it but when I figure it out I will.
Well, Emerson's birth story is quite funny. My husband told me on Friday that since we had been at the hospital 3 weeks in a row on a Friday that I wasn't allowed to go this past Friday. Well I didn't go, I refused I actually said I won't go to the hospital on Friday and if she is born then she will be born in our bed :-) I was having some wicked Braxton Hicks Contractions on Friday night, but managed to toss and turn and sleep through them. Saturday morning Austin and Carson both had a soccer game. So we were at the field from 8:30 til Noon. We were trying to decide on something yummy for dinner, but couldn't come up with anything good. My inlaws were going out to dinner with my husbands cousins for there anniversary, so Kevin kind of invited us to go and we got a sitter for the boys. I went grocery shopping to pic up some essentials for the weekend and dinner for the boys then came home and watched the boys swim at the neighbors house for a few hours. I had been having some very irregular contractions a little painful, but nothing major.
The sitter arrived at 6:00 and we were out the door on the way to my inlaws. By then my contractions were becoming a little more painful, but still very irregular. We had some appetizers and Kevin had a drink with the family and then we left for dinner. I told Kevin on the way there that I was having contractions but they were very irregular and I was pretty sure they were only Braxton Hicks. We got to the resteraunt and I went to the restroom hoping I wouldn't have to go again through dinner. We sat down and I kept having these contractions then I decided they were just uncomfortable pains and she was probably pushing on me trying to get comfortable. We ordered our drinks and dinner around 7:30. They were having a really yummy creamy bacon cheesburger soup and I then turned around and ordered a virgin pina colada :-) Very good. My mother in law doesn't hear very well and sat in between me and Kevin's Cousin Patti. Well Patti and I were talking back and forth and laughing because my mother in law kept saying what? what? what? so Patti and I were getting the giggles. Well I had to go to the restroom again so off I went. Well the contractions were getting bad enough that I stood at the sink for a few minutes before being able to walk out of the bathroom. Went back and sat down. Everyone was talking and laughing and my mother in law still couldn't hear so Patti kept leaning over telling me what she was saying...well by this time I didn't want to talk anymore, but was trying to hide my pain. I wanted dinner :-) Well they kept talking and laughing and Patti kept leaning in to tell me what she was saying. I think the seating arrangements should have been differently LOL. Needless to say my father in law decided it was time to order shots and about that time I looked at Kevin and said I don't think thats a good idea. And he was basically like "Whatever" he ordered the shot and I was biting my lip. Patti said are you ok? and I said I don't think so. I said we need to go NOW! So Kevin cancelled his drink. What stinks is they were about ready to bring out our food. LOL ya thats all I could think about. We got in the car and before we got out the parking lot the contractions were coming 2 minutes apart. Thank God we were at dinner and not home because the drive from home is about 45 minutes and where we were for dinner was about 15 minutes. We got to the hospital at 8:30 and I couldn't even get out of the car. I was breathing through the contraction, got out of the car and Dr.'s and nurses were everywhere they thought I was going to deliver in the car. We got to my room which seemed like forever, but wasn't. The nurses took off my clothes. I stood up and breathed through a contraction, while an on call Dr. kept saying just lay down. I said to him I can't give me one second. I laid down and was dilated to a 6. My Dr. walked in the room about 2 minutes later and checked me and I was at an 8. She said I'm gonna break your water and this baby is going to come. Sure enough she broke my water and after 3 pushes Emerson was here. She was born on 09/06/08 at 8:46 pm (not sure if you caught it but she was born in 16 minutes from arriving at the hospital)weighing 7 lbs 1 oz 20 inches long, bruised face from coming so fast, and what our peditrician calls mickey mouse ear bumps on the top of her head from coming so fast. My Dr. thanked me and said she was at a Breast Cancer Gala and they were doing facials and getting ready to have dinner. She said she really didn't want to be there doing that. She supports the cause just didn't like the facials. LOL She looked very good when she got to the hospital. She said she ran as fast as she could because they called her back and said I was going to deliver in the Parking lot. She said you have some good self control LOL. She gave me hug and thanked me for getting her out of dinner. Great story huh? Only gets better. Because I didn't make it there in time for the epideral I had to start fasting at Midnight so I could have my tubal done the next morning. Well we thought my inlaws would bring mine and Kevin's dinner but they cancelled our dinner and the cafeteria at the hospital was closed. A nurse managed to find me a turkey sandwhich which I ate. And then didn't get to eat again for another 18 hours and it was liquids.
Needless to say we came home yesterday afternoon and Emerson is doing great. I still can't believe she's here.

The question is????
That is the question of the day and the last 3 weeks. When is Emerson coming? Well in the past 3 weeks I have been in the hospital 3 times. Once for contractions 5 minutes apart, no she didn't arrive, I was dehydrated. How can a person drinking at least 75 oz of water a day become dehydrated. Thats a rhetorical question :-)
2nd Trip to the hospital was because my Dr. sent me for bloodwork, then they admitted me. The Dr. thought I might have preclampsia, which I didn't thankgoodness. Granted it was around lunch time and I was starving, but I couldn't have anything to eat per the nurses incase they had to take the baby via C-Section.
Then last night, our 10th anniversary, all the way to dinner I was having contractions, but I was determined to eat dinner and have desert before I went to the hospital. So we had dinner, which I didn't enjoy much because the contractions were 5 - 7 minutes a part for the whole 2 hours we were there. So we decided since we were close to the hospital to just go and walk around and if they got stronger we would go inside. Well by the time we got there they were pretty strong and I didn't want to have to drive all the way home and come back and barely make it. Well after we were there a couple of hours the contractions stopped. Ya, just stopped. So needless to say I came home. My oldest son Austin said so where's the baby, UGH, I wanted to say duh can't you see I'm still pregnant, but I didn't I just said it was a false alarm.
So when is Emerson coming? I really don't know but I'm almost positive she is going to make a grand entrance into this world. I mean she is going to be our only girl, and she has already played havoc on my body.

Tattle Tailing
Is tattle tailing natural or is it learned. My boys came back from Florida and OH My GOODNESS!!! Austin can't quit tattling. I mean I expect this from a little one but he is almost 10. YIKES! I don't think Carson can do anything right. But I have to say this time I think its a tad of there Paw's fault. He really favors Carson and from what I understand Austin can do no wrong. Well Carson isn't good at sticking up for himself if he feels intimidated and I am pretty sure his Paw is intimidating. Well I am pretty good I mean I have been there mom for 9 and 7 years and I know the little tricks up there sleeves and Austin had forgotten how well I know him. I don't ever believe the first thing that comes out of any of there mouths and I always ask what exactly happened and only one person can talk at a time. OUCH! Austin has been caught. I love them dearly and just want them to be kids.
Needless to say I am so glad they are home from Florida, but I think I need a break already :-)
